COVID-19 Pandemic March 27 updates

Information in the COVID-19 pandemic is evolving rapidly, so to help keep WGN viewers informed with the latest updates, follow our live blog for March 27, 2020.

These updates will mostly focus on the Chicago area, but will include some national and international news as well.

9:35 a.m.

Indiana health officials say the state is approaching 1,000 positive COVID-19 cases. There have also been a total of 24 deaths in the state.

9:25 a.m.

Exelon and ComEd have announced a $2 million donation to the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund.

8:50 a.m.

There are no more openings Friday at the Walmart COVID-19 testing site in Joliet for first responders/health care professionals.

7:25 a.m.

Several members of the Life Church of Glenview have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

About 43 parishioners say they have symptoms of the coronavirus, though only a dozen have been tested. Ten of them are positive.

7:15 a.m.

Starting Monday, U.S. Costco locations will temporarily implement new weekday closing hours. We will close at 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Gas stations will close at 7 p.m.

Weekend hours will remain the same.
